With Luck and a Fair Wind

Bellinger shipping 1843 to 1933, by Garry Barnett.

For more than three generations, settlements in the Bellinger Valley were at the mercy of the winds, tides, and floods of the Bellinger River. Urunga Museum Manager Garry Barnett's “With Luck and a Fair Wind” pays photographic tribute to the ships, tugs, droghers and dredges that kept the Bellinger open and kept those settlements alive, until the arrival of reliable road and rail transport.
